[to English note] [2021/06/30]

Photo frame? [2021/06/30]

++++ Is the memory of the time always lost? +++

When I was looking for a case for a 7-inch display for " PC110 ", I left as a photo frame that I liked and wanted to decorate on my desk. ( DreamMaker made DMF070WB ). (\ 380 shipping included Fig.2 [click] )
... But, when the power is turned off, it seems that completely forgets the set (real) date and time . ( Fig.1 )

I'm not sure what the proper existence for these "photo frames" are, so I can't do "correct criticism", but I know what I want, so think from that base.

Since it is called " photo frame ", even if there is a "clock", it is like a bonus, and if even the "photo" can be played back properly, is it okay?
But, when no one is looking at the "photo frame", it's just a matter of replacing the photos without any meaning, and it's kind of awkward! (Lol)

On the other hand, with the " clock ", regardless of whether we look at it or not, it can keep track of the time without slackening, and when we look up, it can (correctly) show the current time.
The " carving movement " at such times seems to be useless (unlike the "replacement movement" of photos), but in reality it is not.
Well, though if I keep it at power on, it may don't reset.

However, in my case, I have a habit of turning off all the power in the room where I am not, so this "photo frame" is reset date/time every morning. It will show.
Of course, there are some things I do habitually every morning, but I'm not free enough to set the date and time of this! (?)

If this itself automatically sets the correct date and time, I'll leave it for use, but if not, a clock that displays the wrong time is much annoying!
As far as I know, " automatic correction method " for "clock" is "built-in battery power", "radio clock system", "GPS time use", ("Via WiFi",) etc.).
When I'm looking at the "portable navigation device", it seems that the time of the satellite can be captured with only a small antenna unit, so I think that using "GPS time" is a cheap and good method, but what about?

CF access indicator light created [2021/06/18]

+++ CF access light with LED chip +++

The other day, when I checked the status of No.4:Shiro, CF access light I saw.
Along with that, I remembered a CF with built-in LED, but I searched for it, but I couldn't find it!?
(I'll dispose of unneeded, large and obstructive items as much as possible. And though small items will usually be preserved. ...)
Well, if I need it, just I make it!

So, I made it using the old CANON 8MB. The top cover is distorted, so don't reuse it. ( Fig.2 [click] )
(In addition, since there are CFs that cannot be booted on PC110, it was necessary to select them.)

It is difficult to see because I have to look from the right side when it is installed in the CF slot of PC110, but this is unavoidable. Let's go. ( Fig.1 )

+++ Sturdy construction, PC-DOS built into CF +++

This CF took a lot of time to remove the top cover.
It's fine to have a lot of nails bite into it and make it sturdy, but I had to forcibly remove it, so the top cover can be reused. It was so distorted that it became impossible. (Fig.3 Tohoho!)

Depending on the CF, the top cover is fastened only with double-sided tape, so I should have chosen that (of digital cameras using), but this time I was unlucky. (?) This is the result of inadvertently choosing something that is sturdy.

I put PC-DOS in contents of this CF, and I tested on No.13:Sugi/Ceder. ( Fig.4 [click] )
Since it is 8MB, it will be a little more, but I couldn't think of any software to make it shine frequently, so I still only have PC-DOS .

これでも、修理には、違いなかろう?!ランプが、点灯出来ればいいのだから。d(^^;

Arm-light broken, repair [2021/06/16]

+++ Switch replacement +++

The Arm-light broken, again! This time, unlike the previous case, it's the switch on the top of left side.

From the other day, it was kind of hard to turn on. ... I was trying repeatedly and turning on the switch, but today I heard a flashy sound like Bash! finally. And the switch stopped turning.
Naturally, the light does not turn on.
(The original switch is like this. Fig.2 [click] )

I extend this Arm Light to the left and right sides of the desk lighting, and adjust it appropriately when taking pictures.
As a test, I put a straight/fixed LED light for a while, but it's still inconvenient to use.
Therefore, I am continuing the current double-sided Arm light system exclusively.

However, due to this failure, if one side did not light up, it would be not convenient to see at hand.
No matter what, I have to repair this Arm light first!

... The newly installed switch is ( this. (Fig.1 ).

+++ The broken lever +++

In order to repair it, I have to remove the switch part, but the most troublesome part is the cord clamp part.
Already, I cut it into pieces with nippers.
After that, the AC cord was loosened in order, and the nut of the switch part was loosened and removed.

When the rotary switch part was disassembled, one side of the lever for rotating the small brass rod was broken. (Fig.3)

Adhesion and fixing of these parts has (unfortunately) no successful trials.
Again, I tried a two-component mixed adhesive and a hard plastic adhesive, but they peeled off immediately and it didn't work.

Finally, after scraping the surface, I applied ultraviolet curable resin again. (Fig.3)
This certainly cures quickly! (Fig.4 [click]). ... However, there is almost no adhesive strength. Therefore, it came off easily!?

Apparently, my method of gluing seems to be bad examples. ... If there is any good surface treatment, give it to me!

In the end, I decided to stop repairing it and replace it with another mountable switch.
Isn't this still different for repair?! It would be nice if the lamp could be turned on. d(^^;

60-pin small connector misunderstanding [2021/06/08]

+++ Maybe?? +++

I went to Nipponbashi/Osaka to buy parts combined with the monthly visit (Silent greetings to deceased relatives and prayers to myself) to Isshinji.
However, although the main shopping was to buy axis diameter:2.1mmφ of DC receptacle, I inadvertently selected 2.5mmφ, and I was a waste of time about it.

However, at another store, I found an unfamiliar junk part.
First, I looked at the VGA connector, and then at the small connector on the board.
I bought this because it might be a lucky goods. (4 pieces \ 200 including tax)

Actually, a 60-pin small connector on the junk small board(Fig.1) was quite similer to the Expansion memory board for PC110 on the right side of (Fig.2 [click].

Expand memory board for PC110 is no longer available at a low price today.
So if I could get just a small connector, since it may be possible to create a new expansion memory board, I'm still looking for that small connector.

I didn't know at first glance whether this was what I was aiming for, so I bought only four for the time being.
If it fits, I was going to buy more (although it's a hassle).

+++ But it doesn't fit! +++

First, I tried to match it with the main board of PC110, but did it feel like it would fit in at all?! ( Fig.4 [click] )
I tried scraping the bulge in the center and the sides inside, but it doesn't seem to fit.

When I looked closely at the difference between the two with the loupe, the way the edges were dented was quite different. (Fig.3)
I don't think I'll have to make a few fine adjustments, so I gave up on small processing!

... Sorry!
But even for a short while, it was worth 200 yen for giving me a dream! (Lol)

Power supply junk purchase [2021/06/04]

++++ I want to try my repair skill ++++

The other day, I noticed a junk item of a power supply ( RXN-305D ) that was broken.
Nowadays, there are many power supplies for digital display, including repaired ones , which is enough.
But why? I bought it because I wanted to repair this junk.
The problem seems to be that the voltage does not come out normally.
At the maximum, it seems that only 9V is output. ( Fig.2 [click] )

When it was sent by courier and received, I was surprised at its weight!
If the power supply is so heavy, it must be a (old-fashioned) transformer type!
... However, it may be a good type that it is separated from the AC line.
(I was disciplined for the accident caused by the (directly connected to the hot side of the AC line) non-separable power adapter of the oscilloscope.)

Immediately, I started disassembling. ( Fig.1 )
Chasing low output voltage, I gradually arrived at the original output of transformer.
... Apparently, the AC output of the transformer is only 12V. ... Hmm??

++++ When I sow it, ++++

There, I finally noticed.
Isn't this a 220V exclusive product?
Yaora, I saw the name plate on the back. ... After all! ( Fig.4 [click] )

Since it was sold in Japan, I thought it was compatible with both 100V and 220V voltages, but it was only ~220V.
(It's strange that this maker uses a transformer that seems to have been made exclusively, but predicts the sales channel and does not take out the 110V terminal in the middle, but maybe it is an OEM product for the United States?)

As my treatment, I searched for an old power transformer that I used to use when I was doing amateur radio a long time ago, and used it to step up the AC voltage. ( Fig.3 )
Perhaps the current capacity will be insufficient for the original design, but it will not consume a large amount of current for a long time, so this will be enough.

+++ I'm worried about how to handle it +++

The result is all right!
I have confirmed that the current is only about 100mA, but the voltage is 30V!

As a test, I turned on the LED array (which I intended to use for the backlight of PC110).
40~50mA is enough, but I forced it to flow 100mA. ( Fig.5 )
bright! bright! dazzling!
However, with this amount of current, there should be no problem with the added transformer.

... What should I do with this? ( Fig.6 [click] )
From the viewpoint of ease of use, it seems that operation of voltage setting and current limit setting can be done in one action, so it is easier to handle than the power supply currently in use.
However, it is a problem that the second digit after the decimal point does not appear!
(In the old measuring instruments, it was thought that the last two digits were meaningless, but now it seems that IC/LSI can produce high precision, so now I have to use it.

In terms of location and space, only one of them can be placed, so after thinking about it (unfortunately), I decided to store the power supply this time! (Well, I should take it out when I need it)

+++ MP3(新品!?) +++

MP2 player broken [2021/06/02]

+++ MP3 (new!?) +++

Recently, I often watch videos of songs and dances on "You Tube", but when I play the videos just to listen to the songs, "Uselessly, Giga will decrease/Communication charges" will increase. (!?)

I can see the difference in sound quality, but I don't really care.
On the other hand, I like rhythmic songs and lyrical songs, so as long as they have the features, I can put up with some "bad sounds".

So I bought an inexpensive "MP3 player" and tried to store some songs in it and listen to them.
I bought a moderate one in " Yahoo! Auctions". ( Fig.2 [click] New \ 880 including shipping)

Intermittently, after listening to it for about 6 hours/day for 3 consecutive days with a charging time in between, failure finally occurred!!
The "BackLight" turns on, but the essential display not appears.
Well, I'm already used to "operation" and I often listen to it, so I don't have much trouble, but even so, this machine has failure. Isn't it too early?!!

As a test, I removed the front panel. ( Fig.1 )
At first glance, I couldn't see the connection. ... Here, this time, I stopped going more further.

This "small box" can still listen to songs , so it's a waste to repair or destroy it.
If I get tired of listening to this, I will completely disassemble it and repair it, but if the IC/LSI itself is out of order, I have no choice but to throw it away, but what about?
... Is it worth it for me?

My original aim was to buy used or junk of "luxury and expensive equipment" that would normally be out of reach at a low price, and then repair and use it.
But these days, such luxury goods are not so available.
Even junk of the parts picking are soaring in price.
