看視USBカメラ10台窓8枚 運用中 現状 to「English Note」
定常的に、毎朝起動している「看視カメラ系」だが、プログラムの更新日が、既に2年を経過していることに気が付いた。（図２［クリック］）
そう言えば、看視系に多数のカメラを使い始めたのが、更に1年前（カメラ10台窓8枚）だから、既に3年経過しているわけだ。（＃ソフト関連の記事群）
現在でも、まだ"窓8枚のリアルタイム表示"は可能なようだ。（図１）
尚、右下の画面は、夜間用として高感度に設定してある為、白く飛んでいる。
USBケーブル（5m長）の屋外にある端部には、「USB-HUB」を取り付けてあるが、これのシーリングが不完全なので、"接触不良"などが頻発するのではないかと疑っていた。
しかし、気候変化などよる"看視系の劣化"は、それほど大きくは無さそうだ。
一部のカメラで、時々起きる突発的な"読み出し不全"はあるが、それ以外の、経年変化的な症状は、まだ、見られない。
これは、当地方（奈良県）の「気候の安定性」と「軒のある日本家屋」の効果ではないかと思うが、定かではない。
この看視系（現在は、4カメラで運用中）は、無くても困らないのだが、今では、"無いと寂しい"ものになっている。
まだ、少し、"死角"が残っているので、それを解消しようと、15mの「アクティブUSBケーブル」も買ってはあるのだが、何故か、作業を始める気にならない。
実は、"良いUSBカメラ（Webカメラ）"が、まだ見付かっていないから、かもしれない。

＋＋＋ 同時並走可能なカメラ群 ＋＋＋
従来から、USB（Web）カメラは、複数台同時に働かせられない、多くても2台迄、というのが定説のようだ。
尤も、通常は、複数USBカメラを使う"必要性"も、"意味"も無いからだろう。
私の場合、複数の風景・窓を、手軽に、安上がりに表示出来る方法として、これがベストだと思ったから、組んだわけだ。
当然ながら、同時表示する窓の枚数が増えれば、それに合わせて、解像度を落とす必要があることは、自明の理だ。
Logicool製のカメラは、どれも対応力があるようなのだが、他のUSB／Webカメラは、自己主張が強いのか（？笑）、"解像度の変更などまかりならん！"と、こちらの要求には応じてくれないから、"多数台並走"には向かないカメラが殆どだ。
今、多用しているのはLogitech製、それに、1台だけMicrosoft製だ。（図３）
問題は、これらの（旧バージョンの）Logitech製は、同じ機種のカメラを複数台併設すると、最後の1台だけにしか、カメラの条件設定が行えない。（図３の矢印の組）
（後期バージョンのカメラでは、識別可能になっているらしいが、私は試してはいない）
その対策として、私は、同じ機種は、別々の「USBケーブル＋USB-HUB」に接続してあり、設定時には、USB接続を切り放している。
一度設定してしまえば、併設は可能だ。
現在、カメラ9台の内、2台は夜間専用として、"超高感度"に設定してあるので、昼間は"白面"になってしまうが。（図４［クリック］）
"死角を補うカメラ"には、総合的に見て"設定し易いもの"を使いたいのだが、中々良いのが見付からない。

Viewing USB 10 cameras, 8 windows Currently in operation
I'm starting the "nursing camera system" regularly every morning, but I noticed that the update date of the program has already passed two years. ( Fig.2 [click] )
By the way, it's already been 3 years since I started using many cameras for the viewing system more one year ago (10 cameras and 8 windows, in Japanese).
Even now, it seems that "real-time display of 8 windows" is still possible. (Fig.1)
The screen on the lower right is white image because it is set to high sensitivity for nighttime use.
A "USB-HUB" is attached to the outdoor end of the USB cable (5m long), but since the sealing of this is incomplete, "poor contact" I suspected if it would occur some troubles frequently.
However, "deterioration of the visual system" due to climate change etc. does not seem to be so large.
Some cameras have occasional sudden "reading failure", but no other aging symptoms have yet been seen.
I think this is due to the "climate stability" and "Japanese houses with eaves" in this region (Nara Prefecture), but it is not clear.
It's okay if it don't have this viewing system (currently operating with 4 cameras), but now it's "I'm lonely without it".
There is still a "blind spot" left, so I bought a 15m "active USB cable" for eliminating it, but for some reason I don't feel like starting work.
In fact, it may be because I haven't found a "good USB/Web camera" yet.

+++ Camera group that can run in parallel at the same time +++
Traditionally, it seems to be the accepted theory that multiple USB (Web) cameras cannot work at the same time, or most two.
However, there may be usually no "necessity" or "meaning" to use multiple USB cameras.
In my case, I thought this was the best way to display multiple landscapes and image windows easily and cheaply, so I assembled it.
Of course, it is self-evident that as the number of windows displayed at the same time increases, the resolution needs to be reduced accordingly.
All the cameras made by Logitech seem to be compatible, but are other USB / Web cameras almost unique (Lol), about resolution most of the cameras are not suitable for "multi-unit parallel running" because they do not respond to this request.
Right now, I use a lot of Logitech, and only one Microsoft. (Fig.3)
The problem is that these (older versions) Logitech products, when those multiple cameras of the same model are in the system, only the last one can set camera conditions. (Fig.3 arrow set)
(Late versions of the camera seem to be identifiable indivisually, but I haven't tried it)
As a countermeasure, I have the same model connected to different "USB cables + USB-HUB", and I'll cut off the USB connection at the time of setting.
Once set, it is possible to add it in the same system without trouble.
Currently, two of the nine cameras are set to "ultra-high sensitivity" as nighttime only, so it will be "white" during the day. ( Fig.4 [click] )
I'd like to use a "camera that makes up for blind spots" that is "easy to set", but I haven't found a good one.
