TRIO HA-3 VerticalAnt(旧品)Up to [English Note]

7MHzなどのワッチは、もっぱら、「FT-7」と「IC-290」が担当。d(^^;

TRIO HA-3 Vertical Ant (old product) Up

The rainy summer season is over, and the climate is getting better, so I tried to lift my heavy(?) hips with an antenna.

First, I took out the "7MHz full-loop antenna" that I was testing indoors (only noise is received). (Fig.2 [click])
(Ground planting type) I compared it with the "multi-band vertical antenna", but the sensitivity is still inferior.
I think it would be even better if I put in a "direct amplifier", but it wouldn't be interesting if it wasn't as good as a "vertical antenna", so this is over!

Instead, the planned "empty pillar" (previously raising the GP ant for 50MHz band) had (which I bought a long time ago, used it, and put it in the storeroom) TRIO made HA-3 "has been redeveloped and raised! ( Figure 1 )

The " 21, 28, 50MHz band " that can be covered by this seems to be a state where the old birds are singing (?), But if the activity of the sun becomes active, the band The inside should be lively, so let's get ready now. (... I don't know what time it will be unless I ask the sun. Lol)

Now, the main receiver is set to 21.340MHz, and the PC is quietly listening to "SSTV" in standby mode.
"FT-7" and "IC-290 with Upcnv." are in charge of watches such as 7MHz. d (^^;

+++ Adjust SWR with nanoVNA +++

This "HA-3" seems to start from 51MHz and make the final adjustment at 21MHz, but it is quite the best whether the veranda of the "aluminum sash" adjusted on that influences. I couldn't get into the best state.
In a compromised state, weird dips can be seen around 23-24MHz and around 36MHz. (Fig.3)
Also, it's unpleasant to see "strange vibration" (although not big).

As a test, connect "HA-3" and "nanoVNA" directly without passing through the (homemade) "antenna switch". I looked it up.
The result was relatively smooth, with no "strange vibrations". (Fig.4 [click])

It is not clear what kind of effect this will have in actual operation.
Maybe it contributes to "noise increase", and it is decided that it is better not to do so, but on the other hand, for various experiments Since such a (cheap) "switcher" is indispensable for this, it cannot be easily thrown away.

+++ Homemade antenna switch +++

The current (homemade) "antenna switch" has a matrix shape, which makes it easy to make any connection. (Fig.5)
(Actually, I've been looking for such a commercial product for a long time, but I haven't found it yet. If there is, it's too expensive and I can't afford it. Probably)

Inside, I used a "multi-contact switch" for sound (I can't take a picture now, so I'll show I a different one), and the connection is done at 1.5D-2V. (Fig.6 [click])
With such a structure, even if I think that the "antenna" is disconnected, it seems that there is actually "mutual leakage of radio waves", and even if I disconnect everything, "strong radio waves" Then I was able to receive it.

In addition to the internal structure, the receivers are located a little far apart, so it may be a problem to have a cable of about 5meter between them.
However, on the contrary, because there is this "antenna switch", the location of the receivers can be changed freely, which is also helpful.
(In my equipment, "function"s comes first, and "performance"s comes later.)
