PC110 No.9、No.10号機、 No.9現状 ［to English Note］
「PC110」のWVGA-TFT化に挑戦されていた「Mさん」が、ご事情があって手放されるというので、（ご厚意に甘えて、）私が頂くことにした。（感謝！）
早速、「No.9："金剛"」（図１奥）、「No.10："葛城"」（図１手前）と、命名させて貰った。
（因みに、これらは、当県・隣府に跨る1,000m級の山々）
今回は、ざっとした下見で、主に「No.9:"金剛"」の状態を調べた。
（「No.10:"葛城"」の方は、故障の難易度が高そうなので、後日調べたい）
「No.9:"金剛"」は、電源は入るし、ピー音も聞こえる。
添えられていた「WVAG-TFT-LCDモジュール」を接続して、「PC-DOS」を立ち上げてみると、こりゃ変だ！（図２［クリック］）
これでは、「Mさん」も、相当に苦労されていたのだろうな、と思う。
調べた結果、この「WVGA-TFT-LCDモジュール」と「CT65535A.EXE」の相性が悪かったためらしい。
これを、（現在、改良中の）「ct65535e.exe」に替えれば、「WVGA-TFT-LCDモジュール」はほゞ正常に表示出来ることが分かった。
これは、多分、表示器類の試験台として使えるだろうと思うので、大変有難い！
（今まで、試験台にしていた、「No.7："竹"」の劣化が進み、遂に表示が出なくなったので、その代わりに出来る！）

＋＋＋ 本体は、正常！ ＋＋＋
添えられていた「CF-2GB」には、「Win95」に「CT65535A」が入っていたので、きっと、これ1種で苦戦されていたのだろう。
私の方は、「PC-DOS」や「Win95」、「Win98」、「OS/2 Warp」などと共に、実験的に色々作り替えて、「ct65535, a, c, d, e」などを、各種セットしてあるので、取り替えて試すことが出来る。
今回は、偶々、"画面右寄せ"の実験中だったので、その「ct65535e」だと、ちゃんと表示が出た！（図３）
どうやら、"XR56"（Hozrizontal Centering Register）の値が"2"未満だと、タイミングの合わない「WVGA-TFT-LCDモジュール」があるらしい。
「ct65535e」は、その値を"2〜32"に設定出来るようにしたので、タイミングが合って表示が出るようだ。
（ct65535e/mx (x=1〜16 これの2倍値がセットされる。尚、ct65535cでも出来るようにした。ただし、1倍値でセット）
試しに、表示器を「nFSTN-LCDモジュール」と差し替えたら、標準的な表示が見られた。（図４［クリック］）
今は、（フィルム有りの）「FSTN-LCDモジュール」化を狙っていて、それの実験もしたい。
これで、そうした試験が出来そうだ♪
PC110 No.9、No.10号機、 No.10現状 ［to English Note］
今回は、「No.10:"葛城"」の現在の状態を調べてみた。
電池の電解液の浸出による"周辺の腐食"は、それ程、酷くはないようだ。（図６［クリック］）
起動・動作に期待が持てそうに思えた。
しかし、これはなかなか手強い！．．．電源を入れても、通常は、"174エラー"になる。
（図５ このエラーは、IBM機では、どうやら"ドライブ不良"の類らしい）
様々な処置、例えば、幾つかのキーを叩きながら電源を入れたり、本体を逆様にして電源を入れたり、FD（フロッピ・ディスク）をセットして電源を入れたりしながら、反応を調べてみた。
極稀に、FDから起動が出来れば、通常動作はするようだ。
しかし、その起動が安定して出来るかどうかが第一の鍵だ。
それに、他のドライブから起動が出来ないのは、致命的なので、それの解決が第二の鍵。
果たして、これらの"解錠"が出来るか否かは不明だが、この不安定な現状でも、"画面表示"は可能なようなので、"FSTN補償フィルム"の実験対象にしたいと思っている。
また、これには、（「Mさん」のご厚意で、）「ポトリ」と「FDD」が添えられていたので、このセットで、そのまま動態保存は出来る。
しかし、"FD起動"だけでは、やはり物足りないので、もう少し何とかしたいと思う。

＋＋＋ 稀な現象 ＋＋＋
この「No.10:"葛城"」は、"キー入力"には応答するようだ。
例えば、「Fn+F7キー」で"画面切り換え"が出来るし、「Fn+F4キー」で"スタンバイ状態"にも出来る。
だが、電源投入時、「F1キー」よりも"174エラー"の方が先行するらしく、ほゞそれで、以降の動作が遮られてしまう。
長時間放置した後とか、本体中を開けて主基板・半田面を（歯ブラシなどで）掃除した後で、「F1キー」を叩いていると、稀に「Easy Setup」に入ることがある。
その時は、主基板には問題が無くて、"HD1無し"、"HD2無し"の表示が出ている。（図７）
時には、"FDD無し"の場合もある。
極稀に、FDDから起動出来る場合もあって、その時には、通常の動作をするようだ。（図８［クリック］）
その場合も、"chkdsk"や"fdisk"、"format"、"sys"などでの、C，Dドライブへのアクセスは、あっさり拒否される。
まぁ、これは、ハードウェア的に未接続の問題のようだから、当然のことだろう。
一度、本体を分解して、主基板・部品面を確認してみようと思うが、先に"液晶表示部"の改善を試みた後にしたい

この「No.10:"葛城"」を定位置に据えて、「PC-DOS-FD」をセットしたまま、暇々に、電源スイッチを入れては、その挙動を確かめていた。
当然、毎回出るのは「174エラー」ばかりだったが、面白いことに、その回数が数十回位になると、FDをアクセスする頻度が、急に高くなって来た。d(^^;
．．．やがて、「174エラー」は出ずに、1回毎に「PC-DOS」が起動するようになった！
（もしかして、私の熱意／執念が移転して、起動を促し始めたのだろうか？）
「Easy Setup」では、「内蔵フラッシュ・メモリ」も「CF」も認識出来ないが、「PCカード・スロット」は"OK"だったので、此処に「PCカード・アダプタ」＋「PC-DOS-CF」を差して、挙動を確かめてみた。
暫く、探していたようだったが、．．．起動した！
試しに（「Mさん」から頂いた）「Win95-CF」を差して電源を投入してみた。（図１０［クリック］）
その後、別の作業で場所を離れていたが、．．．戻ってみると、見事に「Win95」が立ち上がっていた♪（図９）
現在は、「174エラー」が出ることも無く、素直に「Win95」で起動している。（嬉しい！）

＋＋＋ 起動が定常化？！ ＋＋＋
以前にも、不動「PC110」を、主に電源を入り切りしているだけで、復活させたことがあった。
その機体は、現在も活躍中の「No.5」（6-inch TFT-LCD）だ。
この「No.10:"葛城"」の"復活"の原因は良く分からないが、現象的に見れば、冬眠状態にあったものが再覚醒したのに似ている。
兎に角、今回も、そうした"復活"であって欲しい！
念の為、FD、CFなど幾つかのメディアで起動出来ることを確かめた。
「PC-DOS」や「MS-DOS」は、（FDDの）FDからでも、（PCカード・スロットの）CFからでも起動出来た。（図１１）
「OS/2 WARP」も、CFから起動出来た。（図１２［クリック］）
「内蔵フラッシュ・メモリ」から起動出来ないのは残念だが、この状態で"動態保存"をして行こうと思う。
その内、（壊さないようにしながら、）「HD1」、「HD2」の不具合原因を探してみたい。

PC110 No.9, No.10 machines, check

Immediately, let me name them " No.9:Kongo " (back of Fig_1) and " No.10:Katsuragi " (front of Fig_1).
(By the way, these are 1,000m-class mountains that straddle this prefecture and neighboring prefectures)
This time, I mainly examined the state of "No.9:Kongo" with a rough preview.
(No.10:"Katsuragi" seems to be more difficult to break down, so I'd like to find out later.)
" No.9:Kongo " turns on the power and I can hear the beeps.
When I connect the attached "WVAG-TFT-LCD module" and start up " PC-DOS ", it's strange ! (Fig_2 [click])
I feel sorry for Mr. M , who may have had a lot of trouble with this.
As a result of investigation, it seems that this "WVGA-TFT-LCD module" and "CT65535A.EXE" were not compatible.
It turned out that if this is replaced with " ct65535e.exe " (currently being improved), the "WVGA-TFT-LCD module" can be displayed almost normally.
I think this can be used as a test bench for the LCD modules, so I'm very grateful !
(The deterioration of " No.7:Bamboo ", which had been used as a test stand until now, has progressed, and the display has finally disappeared, so you can do it instead !)

+++ The main body is working ! ++++
" Win95 " and " ct65535a " were included in the attached "CF-2GB", so I'm sure one of these I think he was having a hard time.
I'm setting " PC-DOS ", " Win95 ", " Win98 ”,“ OS/2 Warp , etc., as well as “ ct65535, a, c, d, e ”, etc. on my machines, so I can replace them and try it.
This time, I happened to be experimenting about "screen right justification", so the "ct65535e" was displayed properly ! (Fig_3)
Apparently, if the value of "XR56" (Hozrizontal Centering Register) is less than "2", there seems to be a "WVGA-TFT-LCD module" that does not match the timing.
Since the value of "ct65535e" can be set to " 2~32 ", it seems that the display appears at the right timing.
( ct65535e/mx (x = 1~16 double value of this is set. In addition, ct65535c can also be used this option。But the value is single.)
As a test, when I replaced the display with the "nFSTN-LCD module", I saw a standard display. (Fig_4 [click])
Right now, I'm aiming for a "FSTN-LCD module" (with film), and I'd like to experiment with it.
With this, it seems that such a test can be done ♪
PC110 No.9, No.10, No.10 Current status
This time, I checked the current status of " No.10:Katsuragi".
The " surrounding corrosion " due to the leaching of the battery electrolyte does not seem to be so severe. (Fig_6 [click])
It seemed that I could expect it to start and operate.
However, this is quite tough ! ... Even when the power is turned on, the normal reaction is " 174 error ".
(Fig_5 This error seems to be similar to " drive failure " on IBM machines)
Investigate the reaction while turning on the power while hitting some keys, turning on the power by turning the main body upside down, setting the FD (floppy disk) and turning on the power.
Very rarely, if I can boot from FD, it seems to work normally.
However, the first key is whether or not the startup can be performed stably.
Besides, it is fatal that I can not boot from other drives, so the solution is the second key.
It is unclear whether these "unlocking" can be done, but even in this unstable situation, "screen display" seems to be possible, so I would like to make it an experimental target of "FSTN compensation film".
Also, this was accompanied by "Potori" and "FDD" (with the kindness of "Mr. M "), so this set is dynamic as it is. It can be saved.
However, "FD startup only" may be still unsatisfactory, so I would like to do something a little more.

+++ Rare phenomenon +++
This " No.10:Katsuragi " seems to respond to "key input".
For example, "Fn + F7 key" can be used for "screen switching", and "Fn + F4 key" can be used for "standby state".
However, when the power is turned on, " 174 error " seems to precede " F1 key ". That would interrupt subsequent operations.
when I hit the "F1 key" after leaving it for a long time or after opening the main body and cleaning the main board/solder surface (with a toothbrush etc.), in rare cases " Easy Setup " May enter.
At that time, there was no problem with the main board, and "HD1" and "HD2" were displayed. (Fig_7)
Sometimes it is "no FDD".
Very rarely, it can be booted from FDD, at which time it seems to behave normally. (Fig_8 [click])
Even in that case, access to the C and D drives with "chkdsk", "fdisk", "format", "sys", etc. is simply denied.
Well, this seems to be a hardware unconnected problem, so it's not surprising.
PC110 No.9, No.10, No.10 Win95
With this " No.10: Katsuragi " on the fixed place, with the "PC-DOS-FD" set, turn on the power switch frequently and I checked its behavior.
Of course, only " 174 error " appears every time, but interestingly, when the number of times reaches several hundred times, the frequency of accessing the FD suddenly increased. It was getting higher. d(^^;
... Eventually, " 174 error " does not appear, and " PC-DOS " became start every time !
(Maybe my enthusiasm/obsession has encouraged activation ?)
" Easy Setup " cannot recognize "Built-in flash memory" and "CF card slot", but " PC card slot " was "OK", so I inserted "PC card adapter" + " PC-DOS -CF" here and checked the behavior.
It seemed like it was looking for somewhat for a while, but ... It started !
Then as a test, I pluged in " Win95 -CF" (received from " M "), and turn on the power. (Fig_10 [click])
After that, I was away from the place for another work, and ... When I went back, " Win95 " was brilliantly launched ♪ (Fig_9)
Currently, " 174 error " does not appear, and it is started always with " Win95 ". (I'm happy !)

+++ Start is steady ?! ++++
Previously, there was that the immovable " PC110 " was revived mainly by turning the power on and off.
The machine is the " No.5 " (6-inch TFT-LCD) that is still active.
The cause of the "revival" of this " No.10:Katsuragi " is not clear, but from a view point phenomenon, it is similar to what had been in hibernation and awakened again.
I want that this "revival" is so !
Just in case, I confirmed that it can be started with some media such as FD and CF.
" PC-DOS " and " MS-DOS " can be used from FD (of FDD) or (PC card). It was possible to start from CF (in the PC Card slot). (Fig_11)
" OS/2 WARP " could also be started from CF. (Fig_12 [click])
It's a pity that I can't boot from the "built-in flash memory", but I'm going to "dynamically storing" in this state.
And I would like to find the cause of the problems of "HD1" and "HD2" (while not breaking it).
